Porsche Announces TLC Program for Older Models
19 October 2010 jump to: Porsche
There are few better engineered cars on the roads today than Porsches. It is a combination of these and other facts that have ensured more than 60% of all Porsches produced are still on our roads today. That’s a pretty impressive figure that emphasizes the brand’s activity in the second hand market and even, the character of their meticulous owners. Hands up all those who would love an old school Porsche. Now, hands up all those who can afford to maintain that car? Yeah we thought so, but fear not as there is hope for you yet! Porsche have created a new Porsche CarePlan for models five years and older, for the refined maintenance of out of warranty cars.
Recognizing the need for aftermarket service and maintenance, Porsche have established the “Porsche CarePlan” which grants access to all Porsche owners and their models that are five years old or older. The Plan itself is divided into two separate programs depending on the age of the car. A Service Program, designed for the Boxster (986), 911 Carrera (996), and Cayenne which are five or more years old and, secondly, the Classic Program, which caters to all Porsche vehicles ranging from the pioneer 356 and the coveted 911 Carrera 993 series.
You can register your Porsche by going to the Porsche CarePlan Website and paying an annual fee of €91.10. For the nominal membership fee, Service Program customers receive a 15% discount on original parts, and 10% in other services such as Porsche accessories and the Porsche Design Driver’s Boutique Selection. Classic Program patrons will receive the same 15% discount on parts and a further 10% on labor, along with a certificate of authenticity and membership to the program. That should no doubt help the resale value of older Porsches, especially to owners of limited edition models like the 356, of which many replicas still exist. Both programs also offer Porsche roadside assistance and invaluable, expertly trained technicians to work on your prized ride.
