Lamborghini Aventador J Six Week Preparation 2012 Geneva Motor Show?. Lamborghini Aventador J Six Week Preparation? Top Gear magazine interviewed Lamborghini’s designer Filippo Perini about the creation of the one-off hypercar.
“It was the 14th of January that Mr Winkelmann asked us to do something for Geneva”, explains Perini. “A blank sheet. Do what you want. I drew this car in a weekend…”
That left just six weeks for the car to be ready for the show. If you think that the Aventador J is just a “regular” coupe with its roof and windshield removed, think again: it’s a completely new design, with only the front bonnet, headlights and front and rear fenders that were carried over from the regular production model.
Everything else was new. From the huge air intakes at the front to the bigger rear diffuser, the one-off speedster, that was sold even before its unveiling, is completely redesigned.
FYI, we were always a bit skeptic of Lamborghini’s claim that the “J” in the speedster’s name was inspired by the FIA’s Appendix J rulebook for homologating road cars.
Seriously, can you imagine anyone, least of all the company that gave us the likes of the Miura, the Countach and the Diablo naming …
Bentley EXP 9 F SUV Concept Will Get Redesign When “criticism” get a lot
the Bentley EXP 9 F SUV Concept in 2012 Geneva Motor Show get a lot of criticism about its styling even before the general public had the chance to see the concept in real life. In fact, the disapproval rate was so widespread that during the press days, an unnamed Bentley source told British publication “What Car” that Exp 9 F’s styling is “a little heavy handed” and that “an alternative design is in progress”.
The Bentley source added that the firm’s second take on the SUV theme will have “more traditional SUV proportions and less retro surfacing” while retaining the EXP 9 F’s round headlights (albeit slightly smaller) and fog lights.

This just my favorite, The Super Car 2012 Pagani Huayra. 2012 Pagani Huayra Carbon Edition Making debut in 2012 Geneva Motor Show with Huayra White Edition. this so special when we get riding with this car. Debut The Carbon Fiber Edition obviously uses tons of carbon fiber to set it apart from the standard, but that’s where the differences end. The model has dropped its usual paint job in favor of carbon fiber coating, with the same material also being used for many of the interior elements starting with the dashboard and going up to accents on the premium leather seats.
Aside from the carbon fiber extravaganza, the Huayra Carbon Edition maintains all of the standard Huayra’s luxurious amenities, including its twin-turbocharged V12 engine. This engine is good for 700 HP and 738 lb-ft of torque and in the standard model, will sprint the super car from 0 to 60mph in just 3.3 seconds up to a top speed of 230 mph.

Bertone Nuccio Concept Debut In 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The Nuccio is a fully functional prototype powered by a mid-mounted, 480HP 4.3-liter V8. It measures 4,800mm in length, 1,950mm in width and 1,220mm in height, with a 2,600mm wheelbase.
Bertone says that the Nuccio harks back to some of its best concept cars such as the 1968 Alfa Romeo Carabo, the 1970 Lancia Stratos Zero and the 1971 Lamborghini Countach. Some design elements from the era include the cab-forward design, the tapered, trapezoidal windscreen and the “twin peaks” on the orange roof.
The same color is used in the concept’s interior, which features classic analog instruments with a prominent central tachometer and anatomical sports seats. A nod to the future is the 26-inch LCD screen mounted behind the seats. It replaces the conventional windscreen, which due to the shape of the car and the mid-engined layout would offer no visibility, projecting the image from the rear view camera.

At the 82nd Geneva Motor Show, Maserati unveiled the latest version of the Maserati GranTurismo and the Maserati GranCabrio with the Sport moniker. The Sport models replace the S variants and the changes are more than skin deep.
For starters, the 4.7-liter V8 engine now produces 453HP and 520Nm (383.5 lb-ft) of torque, up from the 440HP and 490Nm (361.4 lb-ft) of the GranTurismo S.
Power is still channeled to the rear wheels and buyers can choose between a “robotised manual”, i.e. semi-automatic, or a conventional manual gearbox. The 6-speed semi-automatic, which won’t be offered in the North American market, changes gears in just 100ms. This version of the coupe accelerates from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).
The ZF six-speed automatic features the MC Auto Shift management software that is also used in the GranCabrio and Quattroporte Sport GT S and is barely slower, posting a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 298 km/h (185 mph).
Inside, there is a new steering wheel with a flatter rim and improved grip, and different gearbox paddles, while the new front and rear seats offer better support as well …

Hyundai bring the Futuristic Design for New Hyundai i-oniq Concept Car in 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The i-oniq is fitted with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine generating a maximum of 61PS (60hp), which is linked to an 80 kW (107h) lithium-ion electric motor that is powered by a 55 kW generator through a single ratio gearbox.
According to the Hyundai, in electric-only mode, i-oniq can travel 120km (75 miles) and up to 700km (435 miles) with the assistance on the petrol engine, emitting just 45 g/km of CO2 emissions. The New Hyundai i-oniq concept model can reach a top speed of 145 km/h, which is equal to 90mph.
Thomas Bürkle, Chief Designer at the Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre, explains: “Two arched curves are the key theme behind i-oniq, creating a strong and playful contrast between sharp character lines and soft but muscular features. The profile lines of the front fender run from front to back, emphasising i-oniq’s coupé appearance, while offering maximum visibility to occupants.”

We get this update In Geneva, Fiat presented the five-seat version of the 500L, but the company is also planning to introduce a longer variant with seven seats. Series production of the 500L will begin at Fiat’s Serbian plant Kragujevac later this year with European sales to start in the fourth quarter of 2012.
New Fiat 500L will be offered with two petrol engines, a 0.9-liter turbocharged twin-cylinder unit and a 1.4-liter unit, plus a 1.3-liter Multijet II turbo diesel.
According to sources, Fiat will offer the five-seat version of the 500L in North America, but not the seven-seat model. At 4,140mm long, 1,780mm wide and 1,660mm tall, it’s 594mm longer, 153mm wider and 175mm taller than the three-door 500. The Italian company says its boot has a capacity of close to 400 liters and that is is able to hold up to five roller suitcases or a full-size pushchair.
